This is my current obsession. I want to spend the rest of my days wrapped in 80s Toyotas. These old 4Runners are so damn cool.

my aunt had a red one from new. They were very cool but finding them in good condition now is getting trickier.

Depends. I lusted over an E9X M3 when I was in college and it has lived up to the hype. Even after almost 4 years of ownership, it never fails to put a smile on my face.

The turbo ones had a digital dash. No i don’t know how many of those there are but I’m assuming not many.
Looking at your reply to HHFP the early 2000s ones would be late 3rd gens or early 4th gens. I have a 99 if you have questions.

You better buy that one NOW. Because once you sell your Infiniti, you’ll spend 10 years trying to find one in that condition again, and if you do...it’ll cost twice as much.

There’s a strong possibility my ‘01 Suburban will be the newest vehicle I ever own from here on out. If I sell it, it’ll be replaced by either a square body Suburban or a Wagoneer. My hatred of new cars runs deep. I support your decision.

Not even then. Your caveat may apply to a 1983 Hilux diesel but never to an early 4Runner.

There are rare exceptions. But I’ve never come across one. I’ve certainly never idolised a BMW so, from my perspective, it doesn’t count.
